So, as I was formatting today’s post and getting it all
ready, a small thought—okay, a big thought, crossed my mind. This post could
never be seen. That’s right, there’s a chance that after I’d taken all the time
to create this wonderful post, welcome Author Jordan K Rose (another Crescent
Moon Press Star), that no one could see it, because the world as we know could
end.
Of course I’m not much of a believer, so, I hope my efforts haven’t
been wasted and that I’ll wake up and find the world and all the people in it
going about their daily business, and naturally, praying they take a moment to
stop by my blog and check out Day 12 of the 15 Days of Christmas Giveaways.
Assuming of course the world is still in one piece, there is
a prize to be one, and book to be introduced and an interview to be read!
First up, the prize!

Now let me take a moment to introduce you to Jordan’s book,
Perpetual Light!
Fate is cruel.
Especially when the one you’ve sworn to love for all eternity, the very soul
who changed your destiny is the last person you should trust.
After more than
three hundred years of running, Lucia Dicomano must make a choice.
Forced to take her
place as a Pharo of Redemption, the divine slayer needs to master her forgotten
powers. Lucia turns to Vittorio, the one vampire she’s failed to deliver from
eternal damnation. But overcoming smoldering remnants of love, lust and anger
aren’t their only obstacles.
Samuel, who may
know Lucia better than she knows herself, hunts her with a fervor stoked by a
thousand years of vengeful hatred. His plan—capture and enslave the weakened
Pharo then take control of her elusive power.
Can Lucia trust
Vittorio long enough to reclaim her powers? Or will she have no choice but to
kill him and battle Samuel alone?
And
now, on to the interview!
Welcome Jordan, Can
you please describe yourself in five words or less!
Funny, friendly, ambitious, self-conscious, forgetful.
Describe Perpetual
Light in five words of less.
Vampire romance about fated lovers.
Only two books will
fit in your Christmas stocking, what books do you really, really want and why?
First Drop of Crimson by Jeannine Frost because I love Spade
and Denise. There were a few scenes in that book that made me laugh out loud
and then of course, the romance was fantastic. Vampire Mine by Kerrilyn Sparks.
Marielle’s innocence is so funny I literally had tears in my eyes.
I find that the
holiday’s means baking, what is your favourite holiday specific cookie and why?
In my family I make the Honey Cookies. They’re an Italian
cookie that we’ve been making for generations. My grandmother taught my mom and
aunt and me how to make them, and everyone looks forward to having them. They’re
fried and sweet and look beautiful when they’re done. Every year when I’m
making them I always remember the last year my grandmother and I made them. I
did all the work and after I’d roll the dough, cut and form the cookie, and
place it on the tray to rest while I made the others, she’d touch each one- to
move it into a better position. It was hysterical because that was her
contribution to the efforts. I still remember her grinning as she moved them.
Then while I was frying the cookies as she sat and gave directions my
grandfather came in to show me some newspaper article about my uncle. The oil
was bubbled over. We practically had a fire and he was in the way. That year I
also broke a smoke detector trying to take the batteries out to stop the
blaring, set the toaster on fire, hooked up the dishwasher and forgot to turn
on the water so I melted every plastic object in it. At the end of the week my
grandfather threw me out. He was utterly flabbergasted by everything that had
happened. Thankfully, my mom got me invited back for Christmas. It was just one
of those weeks!
On your road to
publication, what has been the biggest hurdle to overcome?
Time management. I work full-time, run a household and
write- oh and have friends and family who still want to see me. So managing my
time has been the biggest challenge. I’ve learned to do the best I can and not
beat myself up for not being able to do everything or for not writing as much
as I had hoped. Everything happens in due time.
If you could pick
real life actors to play the roles of your main characters, who would they be
and why do you think they are a perfect fit?
I’d chose Gerard Butler for Vittorio, though I’m not sure
he’d be able to pull of the Italian accent, but I love him anyways. And for
Lucia I’d pick Kate Beckinsale.
Can we expect to see
more from you as an author? Can you give us a little hint as to what your next
project is going to be about?
Yes, you can! I’ve got a couple more books out on submission
and hope to bring them to publication in the next year. One is a traditional
romance, well, traditional-vampire romance and the other is slightly less
traditional, but romantic and funny.
Are you a pantser or
a plotter?
I am most definitely a pantser. I write out a little bit of
a plot, but not much at all- potentially points in the story or situations that
may be coming, but I don’t know when, where or how they’ll turn up in the
story.
Avery- thanks so much for having me and Merry Christmas!
