DINYB Blog Hop: Violet Fox by Clare C Marshall

Hey! So, I am taking part in the Did I Notice Your Book? Blog Fest Hop Thing with Ciara Knight and Ninja Captain Alex.
I'm not going to lie, I sort of forgot about this. I thought I had it marked on my calender, which should have sent me a reminder, but well, when I woke up this morning I knew I was forgetting something. It took me awhile to figure it out, and I'm sorry!

Anyways, Ciara Knight does this cool thing on her blog where she picks a book to showcase, one she hasn't read, once that she sort of stumbles on and then tells you all about it! How cool is that? So for the DINYB event she got a bunch of us together to showcase books all over the net in hopes of gaining attention!

So, here's my book.

I picked this book for a few reasons. The cover. The Price. The Author. The Last Book She Wrote. I'm familiar with Clare C. Marshall, however I think this novel is going to be a fantastic read! The cover is elegant and full of mystery. The blurb sounds super fun and I know that Clare's writing is something I enjoy, so when I found out she's got another book coming out, I had to learn more about it!

There are two kinds of people in the land of Marlenia.

The Marlenians, who live on the surface,

and the Freetors, who are forced to live underground.

The war between them ended two hundred years ago, but the Freetors still fight for the right to live under the sun. Fifteen-year-old Kiera Driscoll embodies the Freetors’ hopes as the Violet Fox. In a violet cape and mask, she sneaks around Marlenia City stealing food and freeing her people from slavery.

Then the Elders task her with a secret mission: retrieve a stolen tome that contains the secrets of Freetor magic, something the Marlenians both fear and covet. Kiera must disguise herself as a noblewoman and infiltrate the Marlenian castle before the Freetor-hating Advisor finds out her real identity, before her brother is imprisoned because of the secrets he hides, and before she falls any more in love with the prince she’s supposed to hate.

More is happening in the castle than she realizes, and Kiera is faced with a difficult choice. Will she be loyal to her people and their fight for freedom, or will she be loyal to her heart?
